Hernàn Cortés de Monroy y Pizarro was a Spanish Conquistador born in Medellin, Castile who led an expedition to the Americas. Hernàn Cortés' expeditions brought an end to the Aztec Empire in mainland Mexico by bringing the region under the rule of the King of Castile in early 16th Century.
